TALKING POINTS
Real Madrid were given two soft penalties in the first half with Cristiano Ronaldo skying the first while Converting the second to give the capital club a one nil lead at the break, but Portuguese Bruma equalised for Real Sociedad early in the second half before Ronaldo volleyed Marcelo Corner kick to put Los Blancos back in the lead and Substitute Lucas Vazquez scored his first Real Madrid goal late in the match to hand Real Madrid a three one victory.

Ronaldo in the win missed his first spot kick of the season and his brace makes it 57 goals in 57 games for club and country.

Two late goals by Angel Correa and Antoine Griezmann handed Atletico Madrid a two nil victory which catapulted them back to the top of La Liga table ahead of Real Madrid who occupied the spot temporarily after beating Real Sociedad.

Barcelona also get two gifts from the Referee in her four nil thrashing of Real Betis, first the referee awarded Messi a soft penalty when he adjudged the Betis Goalkeeper Antonio Adan to have fouled Messi while it was clear the keeper punched the ball and not the Argentine; although Neymar hit the bar with the spotkick while slipping and hitting the ball with his both legs which is against the law of the game, the Referee also failed to blow for a foul on Westermann in the process of scoring the own goal as Ivan Rakitic clearly pushed him to score the goal.

The win did not only confirmed Barcelona's place at the top of La Liga but also draw the curtain on a spectacular 2015 for the Catalan who finished the year with five trophies, 180 goals with the trio of Messi (48), Suarez (48) and Neymar (41) supplying 137 of the goals. The 180 goals broke Real Madrid record of 179 achieved when the Bernabeu club won four trophies in 2014; Luis Enrique team must watch it in 2016 so as not to fall victim of what befall Real Madrid who started 2015 woefully after a spectacular 2014 which ended with a club record 22 match winning streak and later end 2015 without winning a single medal.
